From a Two-Person Startup to an Award-Winning Global Platform
How Kimshuka helped TenXer Labs build, rebuild, and scale LiveBench — the world's first remote electronics testing platform — across nine years and four product generations.
📍 Silicon Valley, California, USA · Hardware & Deep TechThe Challenge
In 2015, TenXer Labs was a two-person team with an ambitious idea: build a platform that would allow engineers around the world to evaluate and test physical electronic components — remotely, in real time, over the cloud. The concept was new. The market was undefined. And they had no engineering team.
Hardware-connected software is notoriously complex. Real-time data streams, physical device integrations, live video feeds, and browser-based evaluation tools all needed to work seamlessly together. Building this required deep engineering experience, product thinking, and the flexibility to evolve as the market gave feedback — none of which a two-person team could sustain alone.
They needed a partner who could think alongside them, own the engineering, and stay invested in the outcome long-term.
What We Did
Kimshuka became TenXer's full engineering team from day one. We started with product discovery — working through what the platform actually needed to do, which customers it served first, and what a realistic v1 looked like. Then we built it.
- → Full product scoping and roadmap planning before any code was written
- → Built LiveBench v1 from scratch — cloud-connected hardware testing with real-time data and live video
- → Rebuilt the platform 3 more times as customer feedback and market conditions evolved
- → Maintained senior engineering oversight throughout all 9 years
- → Used AI tools to accelerate development cycles and reduce time-to-release
- → Maintained high test coverage to ensure platform reliability at scale
- → Worked directly with semiconductor companies (including Renesas and others) to integrate new hardware
The relationship was never transactional. When TenXer's direction changed — and it changed significantly across 4 major versions — we adapted alongside them. The platform that exists today looks almost nothing like what was built in 2015, and that's a sign of healthy, iterative co-building.
“We started with an idea and no clarity on what the product would look like. Kimshuka helped us figure that out — and then stayed with us through every version of what it became.”
— TenXer Labs Founding TeamThe Results
LiveBench is now a globally recognised platform used by semiconductor companies and hardware engineers worldwide. In 2025 alone, it won two major industry awards.
More than the awards, TenXer went from a two-person startup to a company recognised by the global semiconductor industry — with Kimshuka as a constant partner throughout.
What This Means If You're in a Similar Position
If you have a product idea but no engineering team — or an existing product that needs a serious rethink — this partnership model is designed for you. You don't need to have everything figured out. You need a team that can think with you, build with you, and stay invested in what you're building.
